National Library Strategic Advisory Forum

A cross-library and information sector panel that provides independent advice to the Chief Executive/National Librarian on strategies, challenges and emerging opportunities to benefit the wider New Zealand library sector.

The Forum also provides a forum for the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) and Te Rōpū Whakahau (Māori in Libraries and Information Management), to engage with the different sectors of the library and information world.

LSynCNZ (now Kōtui) Steering Group

LSynCNZ (Library Systems in Collaboration, NZ) is a joint project between public libraries and the National Library of New Zealand to develop and fund a business case for a shared library system under a library systems consortium.

The vision for Kōtui is:

"Libraries working together to provide all of their customers with easy, fast and effective access to the local, national and international resources they need to live, learn and earn."

 

The project is guided by a steering group of APLM, LIANZA, LGNZ and National Library along with the project sponsor NLNZ.  The role of the Steering Group is to set project directions, advocate for the project and monitor the development of the project.  APLM representatives are:

  • Michaela Bodesheim - District Librarian, Buller District Library
  • Jane Hill - Manager, Libraries, Wellington City Libraries

Te Puna Strategic Advisory Committee (TPSAC)

Te Puna Strategic Advisory Committee (TPSAC) advises the National Librarian on the strategic direction of Te Puna Subscriber Services in order to maximise the benefits of the service to member libraries.

TPSAC has two key purposes:

  1. to provide the National Librarian with strategic advice on direction, policy and standard setting for the services provided to New Zealand libraries via Te Puna Subscriber Services
  2. to act as a conduit between the New Zealand library community and the National Library.

Appendices of the Journals of the House of Representatives (AJHR)

The National Library of New Zealand is initiating a collaborative programme to digitise the Appendices to the Journals of the House of Representatives and make these important official records of New Zealand’s social, economic and political history, easy to access and freely available online.

Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA)

Remuneration Survey Committee

The LIANZA Remuneration Survey Committee represents public, tertiary, business, health & medical, law, central government, school and theological libraries and their professional staff. The committee has commissioned this survey in order to gather information about what librarians are paid across the country and across the various library sectors.

EPIC Governance Group (EGG)

The EPIC Governance Group (EGG) is made up of ten library sector representatives and is responsible for the strategic direction of EPIC. EGG guides the operation of the consortium and works to promote uptake of the resources.
