"Each time I open the library doors it's like a shot of adrenalin - or a 'warm fuzzy'!"

The Upper Hutt Central Library is presently undergoing a major redevelopment, due to be completed mid October 2010, which will provide the Upper Hutt community with a public library that is capable of allowing the delivery of contemporary library services and innovative programmes.
Specifically, the renovations involve a total re-roofing, upgrade of cabling, wiring and lighting; and the addition of two major extensions to the building.
This work will enable the library to increase its overall capacity by more than 30%, expand the children’s area by 75%, improve access to the library collections; and to dedicated study and activity/programme spaces. It will also enable the library to take advantage of a number of current technologies to provide enhanced customer service experiences.
