"Libraries are the cornerstone of Education"
~ Ruth Gotlieb
Busting holiday boredom is what the staff at Puke Ariki’s Discover It! do best with a Summer Holiday Programme of activities to suit everyone.
The latest activity session, called ‘Meltdown’, saw children creating their own ice-cream collages after a storytime about the summer sweet treat.
Puke Ariki’s holiday programme runs for three weeks, offering a variety of activities and entertainment for children aged between 5 and 12 years. Sessions are always well attended and the children – and their care-givers – enjoy themselves.
Youth Learning Officer, Sarah Ede, said: “More than 100 children get involved our holiday programme each year – and we enjoy it too! It is great to see the children’s area of the library so busy and vibrant.”
