APLM Supports LIANZA Campaign to Keep Public Libraries Free
The Association of Public Library Managers supports the Library and Information Association of New Zealand Aotearoa (LIANZA) in its move to secure legislation to protect free public library services throughout New Zealand. Public Libraries engage, inspire and inform citizens and help build strong communities, contributing to the nation’s economic and social well being.
UNESCO’s Public Library Manifesto encourages the commitment of national and local governments to support and actively engage in the development of free public libraries within a broad strategy for culture, information, literacy and education.
